WE USE A HOLISTIC APPROACH IN ASSESSING YOUR PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL WELLNESS

Picture

Our psychiatric assessments focus on a comprehensive evaluation of the patient's mental and physical health. We use structured, research-validated assessment tools to evaluate your current emotional and cognitive functioning, social environment, mental and physical health, as well as substance use. As part of our assessment process, we also review any previous medical or psychological records that are available.
Our goal is to provide a comprehensive assessment that can be used to determine an accurate diagnosis and formulate an effective treatment plan. Our telehealth services make it easy for patients to access the care they need without having to leave their homes, and our assessments provide the information necessary for accurate diagnosis and efficient treatment of mental health issues. With our telehealth services, you can receive quality psychiatric assessments from the comfort of your own home.
Mind and Body Psychiatric Assessments
We are committed to providing state-of-the-art mental health assessments and treatment without a long wait. Timeliness and accuracy are important. It has been estimated the average time from onset of the first psychiatric symptoms to correct mental illness diagnoses is approximately 10 years. This unacceptable long and complex process of diagnosing mental health conditions is due to the wide range of presenting symptoms and ongoing medical problems can frequently complicate the process. Mental health providers must assess an individual based on a wide range of data:
  • Family history
  • Medical history
  • Lab tests
  • Observations about behavior and moods
  • Patterns in physical activity or sleep disturbances
  • Reactions to medications, and more
Additionally, many mental health conditions have similar symptoms which can be hard to distinguish from another, meaning the evaluation process can take even longer sometimes.
Making a correct diagnosis is essential in providing effective treatment for Mental Health

Treatment options vary based on the condition and its severity, so it's essential that the diagnosis is accurate. Without an accurate diagnosis, it can be difficult to determine the most effective treatment plan. The wrong diagnosis can also mean taking unnecessary medications or spending time and resources on treatment that don't address the underlying issue.  This can cause significant delays in finding the most appropriate treatment, which may have a detrimental effect on the individual's mental health.
After a comprehensive assessment, we offer medication management, cognitive behavioral therapy, short-term psychotherapy and caregiver support for many conditions:
  • Affective Disorders (depression, seasonal affective disorder, cyclic mood disorders including bipolar)
  • Anxiety Disorders (panic, agoraphobia, social, mixed, general)
  • Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Substance Use Disorders
  • Eating Disorders (Binge eating)
  • Chronic Psychoses
  • Chronic Pain
  • Sleep Disorders (insomnia, etc.)

CONVENIENCE OF TELEHEALTH

Picture
All of our appointments are done online. Telehealth allows you to get the care that you need almost anywhere. Research shows that behavioral telehealth is highly effective and equivalent to in-person care when it comes to clinical outcomes, diagnostic reliability, and patient satisfaction. Telehealth has been gaining popularity in recent years, providing patients with a convenient and accessible way to receive healthcare from the comfort of their own homes.
Whether it’s for mental health or physical health, telehealth offers various benefits, particularly for those who may not have easy access to healthcare or are unable to leave their homes. Telehealth is a reliable and secure way for patients to receive a diagnosis or treatment without having to physically go into a doctor’s office. For mental health specifically, telehealth can provide an easier solution for people with anxiety or depression, who may feel more comfortable talking over the phone or video. Mental health resources are also more available to those who may not otherwise have access to them.
